F1’s official broadcaster list currently names Coupang Play for South Korea. Formula 1 also announced in September 2025 that it had extended a multi-year partnership for Coupang Play to broadcast F1 exclusively in the country.
Yet Formula 1 announced in March 2026 that F1 TV Pro and F1 TV Premium would launch in South Korea for the first time. Those products provide direct F1 streaming features such as live sessions, onboard cameras, team radio, data displays, and archive content.
The reasonable inference is that a domestic broadcast agreement and a league-owned direct service can coexist when they cover different products, rights packages, features, or distribution arrangements.
Therefore, a redirect from Formula 1’s website to Coupang Play may identify the official Korean broadcast partner without proving that Coupang Play is the only authorized F1 viewing product available to every Korean user.
The same principle can apply to other sports. Live television, direct streaming, Korean commentary, replays, highlights, and archive access may be licensed or packaged separately. Always verify the current season and the exact product instead of relying on an older announcement that uses the word “exclusive.”
How to Tell an Intentional Redirect From a Broken Link
A normal regional redirect usually has a clear destination. The Korean platform’s domain is recognizable, the league or competition appears on the page, and the user is asked to sign in or select a viewing plan.
A link is more likely to be outdated or malfunctioning when it produces a 404 error, a blank screen, a repeated redirect loop, or a generic homepage with no trace of the league. Do not use a VPN or change the device region merely to test the link. This can produce a result that does not match the account’s actual rights and may conflict with the service’s geographical restrictions.
